What is the Log Cabin?
The Log Cabin is an adventure playground for children who have special needs
or disabilities or who are in need. Our services are available to children
aged 4-15 who live in the London Borough of Ealing.

My child does not have special needs. Can he or she still come to the
Log Cabin?
We have a limited number of places available for mainstream children (provided
they are aged 4-15 and live or go to school in the London Borough of Ealing).
However, when there is a waiting list we prioritise children with special
needs. Please fill in the registration forms and we will contact you to
tell you if we can provide a place, or if your child will be added to a
waiting list.

How much does it cost for a child to come to the Log Cabin?
Cost to parents:
Children with special needs (not requiring 1:1 support):
After School Club - £6 per day
Holiday Playschemes - £11 per day (9.30-3.30) or £15 per day
for extended day (8.30-5.45)
Mainstream children:
After School Club - £8.50 per day
Holiday Playschemes - £17 per day (9.30-3.30) or £19 per day
for extended day (8.30-5.45)

Can my child come to the Playground without my filling in any forms?
All children need to be registered with us in advance. We can take bookings
only on a booking form. We will confirm if your child has a place at the
Log Cabin.

How many staff are there on the Playground to supervise children?
We have a 1:5 staff to child ratio, as well as further staff giving 1:1
support, and some volunteers. There is a Supervisor on duty at the Log Cabin
at all times. There are typically at least 11 staff on site during After
School Club and Playschemes.

My child has profound disabilities. Can you still provide a place for
him or her?
We have a limited number of places available for children who require 1:1
support, and can accommodate these children for only a maximum of 2 days
per week. We will assess the level of care that your child needs when you
register him or her. If your child does require 1:1 support, they will have
a member of staff with them all the times whilst on the playground.

What are the Log Cabin's opening hours?
After School Club - 3.30 pm – 6.30pm
Holiday Playschemes - 9.30 am - 3.30 pm
or 8.30 am - 5.45 pm (extended day)

Can you provide transport?
Transport to and from the Log Cabin can be provided for children whose parents
are unable to bring their child. This is available at no extra cost. However,
we are unable to provide transport for children booked for the extended
day during Holiday Playschemes.
We are unable to give exact times that your child will be collected. However,
as a guide, during the Playschemes our buses leave the Log Cabin at 9.10am.
Your child will be collected from home between 9.15am and 10.30am, depending
on traffic. At the end of the day, our buses leave the Log Cabin at 3.10
pm, and your child will be dropped off between 3.15 and 4.30pm, depending
on traffic.
During After School Club our buses collect children from special schools
at the end of the school day to bring them to the Log Cabin and leave the
Log Cabin for home at around 5.45.

Are there any places available free of charge?
Social Services may be able to fund your special needs child. Please contact
your Social Worker for further information. You will still need to register
your child with the Log Cabin.
The Log Cabin has a sponsored places scheme. Please contact us for further
information.

I do not live within the London Borough of Ealing. Can my child still
come to the Log Cabin?
Once places have been filled for children who live or go to school in the
Borough, we may be able to offer a place to those outside the Borough.

Is the Log Cabin available to hire?
The Log Cabin is available to hire at weekends for children's parties. For
further information please contact Helen Johnson on 020 8840 1506, between
6 and 7pm.
